This Christmas card was about traditions, both new and old.
The 2024 theme was a trip to Grandmother's house, which may conjure up thoughts of a winding dirt road ending with an old Cadillac out front or a quaint home in town with flowerbeds that still look good despite the cold. She might be making her famous cornbread stuffing or sneaking something out of the freezer that she got from the Schwan man.

The Process
From Nov.7 to Dec. 7, I sketched up thumbnails, chose the best design and began the process of inking the block and hand-pulling each card through my etching press. This year was a little different as I ordered a die to help capture the small details instead of carving it by hand. Even still, it's a lot of work to print each layer! But, I get so much joy from creating a unique design for these cards and mailing them out to you. It's a reminder for me that this season is about generosity and community.
